Receiving the Energy Conservation Grand Prize awards

MARUGAME SEIMEN was awarded the top Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Prize in the Energy Conservation Case Studies category of the FY2019 Energy Conservation Grand Prize awards announced in December 2019. This is the first time a business in the restaurant industry has received the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Prize.

Acquiring EcoAction 21 Certification

Based on guidelines published by the Ministry of the Environment in March 2020, TORIDOLL Holdings has acquired EcoAction 21 Certification for a number of our MARUGAME SEIMEN restaurants.
With regard to acquiring certification and registration, we have formulated goals to halve our food waste and emissions volumes by fiscal year 2025, and to improve our food recycling rate; we report on these initiatives every year in the Environmental Management Report.
Going forward, we will make efforts to increase the number of certified restaurants.

The Certification of ”Recycling Business Plan” under the Food Recycling Law

In July 2020, "Food Recycling Loop," which is being promoted by Tridoll Holdings in collaboration with four other restaurants (Seven & i Food Systems Co., Ltd., Matsuya Foods Co., Ltd., Ringer Hut Japan Co., Ltd., Watami Co., Ltd.) acquired the "Recycling Business Plan" certification under the Food Recycling Law by Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Minister of the Environment and Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare. This is the first certification by a restaurant operator.
Through this initiative, we have built a “food recycling loop”. First of all, food recycling resources such as cooking residues at a total of 38 stores operated by five restaurant operators in Nagoya City, Aichi will be converted into feed by recycling company. Next, the feed is fed at the poultry farm, and the chicken eggs produced are bought back by the restaurants, processed into products, and provided to customers.
We will strive to expand the number of stores and businesses that participate in this food recycling loop, and by implementing similar efforts in new areas, we will promote the recycling of food resources and contribute to realize the sustainable society.
